The Addams Family musical comedy is based on the characters created by Charles Addams, a cartoonist from The New Yorker magazine, that later become a TV show and a film. The story then become the Musical that was first performed on Broadway.

This production was directed by Rich Bennett, who has a great cast. The set was very effective with great attention to detail, I liked the paintings in the house that opened. The portrait of Gomez and the family on each side of the stage was a nice touch. Make-up for the cast and the costumes were superb. The chorus play the ancestors and are on stage all the time like a Greek Chorus watching and taking part in the action and never come out of their characters, Jenny Edwards and Charlie Squires have also put alot of work into the show with great choreography.

The Orchestra had a great sound under the direction of Matt Timmins, you could tell that alot of work had gone into the music and singing. Lighting and sound are also great.

The story revolves around Wednesday, having grown up and fallen in love her boyfriend Lucas and his family have been invited by her to meet her family, and all she wants from them is to be normal for the night. Lucas comes from a normal family, so there is a lot of tension when they arrive at the Addams mansion for dinner. They are greeted by Lurch, who they are not at all sure about.

David Kehoe as Gomez was just right, he maintained the accent throughout and has good comic timing and a nice singing voice.

Louise Daly as Morticia was very believable being both intimidating and attractive the relationship between her and Gomez was great.

I really liked Richard McPherson as Uncle Fester, its a fun part and he realy brought out the character, I loved The Moon & Me.

Wednesday, is played by Stephanie Jones, she is just right for the part and brought the character to life in her quest for love.

Taylor Button was very funny as Pugsley, a bit like Dennis the Menace but he is worried about losing his sister if she marries Lucas.

Grandma is played by Naomi Gibson she has some great lines and it's a comic part that comes over very well.

Tom Buxton as Lurch was super, he has next to nothing to say, but steals every scene he was in, dancing with rubber legs and breaking into song at the end taking us all by surprise.

Danielle Morris plays Mrs Beineke, Lucas's mum, She has great voice, and another good comedy part. Alex Freed is Lucas Beineke, he works very well with Wednesday, and just wants to be with her.  Tom Andrews plays his father, Mal, they do look like father & son he too has a good voice.

Well done everyone a great night's entertainment.
