TFAHETGDS Macbeth

“BADLY timed and inappropriate sound effects, random lighting cues, disastrous set and props, fluffed lines, excessive prompts, ham-acting, inept crew, shockingly bad scene changes – all that is perceived as the worst aspects of the am-dram world......” says the local paper report. To someone who has never seen this before it took awhile to realise that this was a play within a play. It was so superbly done leading to an excellent evening’s entertainment. From the “pianist” through to the whole show it took my full attention. I find it very difficult to signal out individuals but must mention Lesley Wilson, Karen Garside and Caroline Powell for their different character work. These together with first class performances from Lynda Parker (‘Macbeth’), Brenda Lambert (Mrs Reece) and Anna Johnson (‘Banquo’) helped to give us, the audience, a very enjoyable evening. An excellent production well directed by Lesley Preedy, supported by Choreographer, Caroline Powell, together with an excellent backstage crew. A very enthralling evening!
