Showtime 2024

NOW THAT’S HOW YOU DO IT!! 

Mary and I were cordially greeted at the Granville Theatre on Friday night, the newly renovated venue for them, such a very nice theatre now. We took our seats and from the first note of Moulin Rouge! we nudged each other and whispered..."This is going to be Good!!" and we were not disappointed.

We could not fault it in any way. What a wonderful piece of theatre MOS gave us, so much talent. Your creative team lead by Donna Clements, with Amy Simpson, Molly Knight, and Brya Porter. They pulled out all the stops in Direction, Choreography, and Musical Direction. A great deal of thought went into Showtime giving us old and new theatre, movies and even a section on Sondheim, not easy at all.

With a cast of over 40, I cannot begin to single out individuals, so I’m not going to try. From your hosts, Stuart and Steve, to the youngest George (an infectious smile) you all shone in your relevant solos, from junior to adult. We liked the Tribute spot to Jackie Hart, a nice touch, and gave us some history of the society, truly touching.
