I liked the innovative opening where the four waitresses mingled with the audience before moving on to the stage. The scenery consisted of the stationary Shakers Cocktail Bar and four chairs. The chairs were moved by the young ladies as required. Clever use of mime did away with the need for numerous props such as tables, chairs, glasses, plates, trays, bottles, ice buckets and cocktail shakers. The four young ladies; Donnamarie Donnelly [Adele], Millie Satchell[ Carol], Zoe-Leigh Sly [Mel] and Tracey Stafford [Nicki] were well chosen for their roles and maintained their characters very well. On the whole the diction was good but care must be taken not to deliver the lines too quickly. I heard more than one comment that it was sometimes difficult to follow the plot....especially when they portrayed the Shakers' customers. Dressed uniformly in black and white they looked fine. The lighting was very dramatic and the sound effects were excellent. A very pleasing production.
