An apt title as the Spa Pavilion was really rocking tonight. The standing ovation given to this show at the end was a sure indication of the tastes of the younger generation today.
The energy put in by the cast was second to none, but we felt that the orchestra was so very loud and certainly drowned out many of the lyrics. The ladies costumes were sometimes too revealing, especially the underwear which left little to the imagination. There was a very good set which was used to good advantage. The choreography by Bronte Fletcher was right for the period and was managed well by the young cast. Nathan Cant played the lead and also put a lot of effort into the direction.
The company were well disciplined as it needed to be with such a large cast. There were some outstanding performances from these young people and the adults in the company supported well.
We wish Nathan every success with his future programme.
