‘Robins Red Riding Hood’ – strange mixture of stories for a Pantomime. On the evening of my attendance the audience was very small, however those in attendance seemed to enjoy.

The script written by Wize Productions was very unconventional, but in a way contained the expected characters for a pantomime [Dame, Hero, Villain Principal Girl]. The cast worked hard to engage the small audience, gaining lots of engagement with the younger audience members during the ‘Oh no it’s not’ – ‘Oh yes it is’ routine.

The main cast [too many to mention everyone] gave good performances and again following on from what I said in my visit to ‘Disco Inferno’ there were some excellent vocals within this company. For me the performances of the evening go to O.G & Fluff [Courtney Fawkes & Jacob Hope]. I particularly enjoyed the ‘If I was not in pantomime’ routine.

Whist ‘Robin Hood’ kept within the story, it was not known by the younger audience members as an ‘audience participation song’ – maybe a song sheet would have worked.

Direction & Choreography were within keeping of the pantomime style.

The set designed by Graham Gooch fitted well within both stories of Robin Hood and Red Riding Hood, Lighting designed by Matt Jones created some good good/bad moods.

Congratulations everyone involved.
