~~Please Sir I want some more said Oliver and that is just what the audience wanted at the end of the show! A great show - a very traditional one - a cleverly constructed set that moved effortlessly from scene to scene. It is always difficult to mention everyone in such a company show but special mention must go to Joe Langley as a very appealing “Oliver”. it was difficult to keep remembering that this was a Youth production as behind the costumes and makeup were young people – and what a talented lot they were. Haydon Fletcher (Mr Bumble) , what a great singing voice, and Ellie Simmonds (Widow Corney) worked so well together as did Ethan Lee and Emily Marshall as Mr and Mrs Sowerberry. Tom Judson was a very cheeky Artful Dodger with a great personality ! Then we met Dylan Singfield as Fagin - wow - under that wig did we really have a 16+ youngster playing this very classical role. Then we met Nancy - beautifully played and sung by Katie Lawson. Act 2 opens with a great company number - Oom Pah Pah – then the mood darkens with the entrance of Bill Sykes – brilliantly played by Lewis Haycock – a real menacing character - who well deserved his “boos” at the curtain call! The principals were supported so well by the actors playing the cameo roles and by a very enthusiastic and talented company. The orchestra was simply excellent. The production numbers were really well choreographed - Chris Renshaw directed the production and must be so proud of you all. Congratulations to EVERYONE involved in such a great show. It was a real pleasure to meet you all on stage after the performance.
