Director Larissa Street spent 4 months in rehearsal producing a very fast moving entertaining show with a well drilled hard working talented chorus performing with pace and enjoying the fun of a modern musical. Co-Choreographer Chrissie White’s displayed her talents with expert setting of Flash Bang Wallop and Build me a Mansion as well as assisting Larissa in producing a very slick performance. A very talented cast of principals treated the audience to a most enjoyable evening. The lead actor Nick Lang (Kipps) was triumphant he gave a stunning performance of this very demanding role, his co star Gavin Buck (Chitterlow), as the actor playwright role also treated the audience to a very entertaining performance, Hannah Pilikington (Ann) playing Kipps childhood sweetheart was suitably demure in the part. Mary Heath (Mrs Walsingham) as always a delight to watch as the snooty lady supported by Sarah Brewster her daughter (Helen) and Paul Brewster as the brother (Young Walsingham). They were fully supported by the cast of actors singers and dancers making the whole show a very entertaining and fun evening enjoyed by a packed theatre. The cameo of Kieron White (Young Kipps) and Emma Rosati (Young Ann) filmed for the start of the show was a lovely introduction. Bob Good conducted the small orchestra well if perhaps a little loud during some of the dialogue Tara Exell and team coped very well with the many scene changes making very effective use of backcloths depicting the various scenes. The lighting and sound augmented the scenery to produce an atmosphere to enhance the production.
