This is one of my favourite musicals and having directed it I know every nuance. The musical score is wonderful and the society was as always well rehearsed in the chorus numbers. Both Melanie Murza as Miss Adelaide and Charlotte Curtis playing Sarah Brown were excellent, but the American accents were rather inconsistent amongst some of the male players. Stage direction was shared which probably made a difference to the overall feel of the production, but the audience appeared to be thoroughly enjoying it. One aspect of the musical was absolutely superb and that was the choreography. It was quite the best I’ve seen in my 10 years as a NODA representative and could have graced a West End stage. Congratulations to Geninne and also to the ladies who performed the routines so brilliantly.
