This society is to be congratulated on such a lively show. The sets were attractive and scene changes moved at a cracking pace.Well done to those responsible. The costumes were beautiful and in keeping with the period.
David Wilson conducted a well controlled orchestra, the sound never too loud which suited me fine. I always like to hear those on stage, well done.
This show relies on good leads and everyone was of the highest standard ,including a good chorus. ..
Bill Snibson, the Cockney lad who finds himself heir to the Hareford title was well played by Philip Harrison. Eleanor Martin gave us a brilliant Sally, his girlfriend. Her singing was outstanding and she looked so comfortable on stage. My best wishes on her future as she begins her course at the Arts Educational Schools.
Lady Jacqueline (Deborah Thew) and Gerald (David Slater) were well suited . Their scenes together and their duets were most amusing. Irene Lunt and Clive McCoy worked very well as the Duchess of Dene and Sir John Tremaine. I loved their characters Well done.
Apart from the opening number ‘ A weekend at Hareford` which seemed to have some vocal problems, the rest of the show was of the highest standard. Thank you so much for a most enjoyable evening and warm welcome.
