This Pantomime was written by local thespian Clark Wilkinson, who is currently working on ‘Scrooge’ at the London Palladium.

The show had a fairly young inexperienced cast, but the enthusiasm shone through. The star for me was Director Eric Finlay, who played Idle Jack, and the show lifted every time he stepped on to the stage. Eric was closely followed by Lisa McKenzie, playing Tommy the Cat, quite superbly. Daniel McCreedy, playing Dame Sarah, was a competent Dame, but his inexperience showed in places, I’m sure he’ll improve greatly, the more he plays the part, as he is a very talented lad. All the other principal characters were well played, and the show moved along at a great pace.

There were some very good production numbers and the young chorus had clearly been well drilled by the joint choreographers. As I’ve said before I’m not a great lover of backing tapes,  but generally, with a few hiccups here and there, it worked very well.

It really doesn’t matter what I say about the show, it’s the kids that count, and the enthusiasm shown on the night I attended, says everything about it.

Well done WADAMS for a good nights entertainment, and thanks for your hospitality
