Written by past member Chloe Perrin this piece tells of the ‘Cupid Union’ going on strike on Christmas Day
. It follows the story of three hapless couples on a journey through every aspect of love from first kisses to breakups etc.
The piece is interspersed with popular music and songs including pop hits, classic rock and some items from musical theatre together with a sketch, Blind Date, written and directed by member Stephen Earnshaw. The Principals were supported by a well-rehearsed chorus of youngsters. Props were minimal and handled well by the cast themselves, with entrances and exits being swift with no pause between scenes. The piece was cleverly written and it is wonderful to see young people keen to employ their talents in this direction.
A great achievement for author Chloe, whilst the Group notched another successful production to their wide and varied repertoire.
STAGE NOTES –
The younger members treated us to a potted version of The Snow Queen, which showed them growing in confidence and discipline in their stage-craft. Each member entered fully into this familiar story, delighting families and friends alike.
