This was a concert with a wide range of music styles, mostly modern, including pop, jazz, swing and rock. It also had plenty of movement, particularly in the chorus “Glee Club” numbers, far removed from static choral singing. The end result was very entertaining reflecting the dedication and hard work which the performers and production team must have put into rehearsals. The successful organisation behind the performance reflects great credit on Lisa and likewise the musical achievement must have been very rewarding to Chris with his well controlled contrasts and feeling for the music. On stage in addition to the choral items, we had a team of solo and small ensemble performers all showing the depth of talent available within the company with great performances throughout, no single star, you all were. The choreography was excellent with the ever changing patterns in the chorus seeming effortless, or though I am sure they were not! The dancing was also very good including some very energetic work by the dance team. The lighting was very good and certainly added to the presentation as did the dress code for the performers. This must have taken some out of their “comfort zone” but well done on quite an achievement.
