Yet another superb show from this great company under the control of Audrey Pring and what a good job she made of it in this excellent production! The singing was wonderfully executed with the sound the cast achieved as good as any you would hear on the professional stage. All the principal singing was very strong. Sally Goddard was a typically bubbly Calamity Jane both in her singing and acting, and she was ably accompanied by Matt Sackman who acted and sang well as Wild Bill Hickock. More romance came from Philip Donald, as Lt Danny Gilmartin, and Rachel Potts, as Katie Brown, who worked well together. Alan Jenkins, as Frances Fryer, gave a polished performance alongside Anneke Poppleton as Susan, and they complemented each other well. Brian Sweatman was a typically fussy Henry Miller, always worrying about how his acts would work in the saloon. Tanya Bourner gave a good cameo performance as Adelaide Adams, the big star. The other principals and enthusiastic chorus, together with an excellent set and costumes were well backed up by Musical Director, Alan Pring, and his superb orchestra. Well done to all concerned.
