Ben Hur, the epic play, is written by Patrick Barlow. The story follows an amateur theatre troupe, as they produce the massive tale of the fictional Jewish prince and merchant Judah Ben-Hur.

Melanie Mcleod –

Jonathan Wheeler –

Tony Allen –

Just four actors as the main principals, perform a multitude of characters, too many to mention them all. Changing accents, characterizations, costumes and wigs, with all these changes so did the plot.

The cast rose to the challenge with every member giving a truly first class performance.

Praise should also go to the wardrobe team and backstage crew who had to work like Trojans to ensure that the cast had the correct costumes on at the right time.

The set was well designed and functional and the lighting was appropriate. Stage props and costumes were authentic.

Congratulations to Peter Stickler who put together a strong group of actors who in turn gave the director a play to be proud of.
