From start to finish this pantomime version had me both amused and enthralled. The talented cast performed with great skill throughout. They maintained the fast pace required, never missing an entrance or an exit or the opportunity for a laugh. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance of Roger Minors as Felix, a giant French Poodle, who always had a great rapport with the audience. Pat Howe’s Beast not only won their hearts but also that of Beauty, Anna Johnston. Caroline Powell doubled her stage role of Malabelle, the wicked witch, with that of the shows’ assistant producer. She had the audience re-acting to her every appearance on the stage with typical booing. Must mention Annabelle Dillon as Beauty’s annoying little sister who has tremendous vocal ability. This is a company which always delivers an enjoyable evening’s entertainment and this one was certainly no exception. It was well produced by Lynda Parker with good support from Peter Fellows, music director, whose accompaniment was always very sensitive. The whole company can be proud of yet another excellent production.
