It was ‘All Aboard’ as we joined Abbey Tappers for their cruise around North Wales. Complete with all the health and safety issuses from Cruise Director/Compere James Benn, with Assistant Cruise Director Ellie Montanaro demonstrating how to put on a Life Jacket, the MS Abbey set sail for a musical adventure. This was a great evening’s entertainment, just the right mood for a summer evening with the hall set out in Café Style and ‘passengers’ enjoying their picnics and drinks.
The programme was well thought out as the fifteen Tappers took to the floor with many nautical items including ‘In the Navy’, and a brilliant ‘Anything Goes’ contribution. The group were well rehearsed and Ellie’s choreography resulted in slick and innovative routines. There were vocal contributions including ‘Sailor Stop Your Roamin’, ‘Titanic’ and ‘Somewhere Beyond the Sea’. A special attraction came from Bex Strevens with a demonstration with the aerial hoop accompanied vocalist Ellie. We really felt we were on board ship, as the audience we were encouraged to get involved in deck games and a quiz, and in the second act we were even invaded by some marauding pirates.
The evening was well supported, a great success, so Congratulations are in order to all concerned, thanks once again for your invitation and I look forward to your production of ‘Allo Allo’ in November.
