The first thing that demanded attention as we took our seats, was the excellent stage set. Charming, spacious, with comfortable 50s' style soft seating and furnishings. The impressively realistic views to the garden, the whole stage was on show and would remain so for our evening’s entertainment. This eye for detail was to be clearly invested from start to finish.

Anne Beer – Director - and her sizeable team were truly on form. Lights up and Letitia Blacklock, so ably played by Sarah Tetley, quickly settled us into the 1950s' country hotel that catered for family, lodgers, and staff. Everyone played their parts very true to period and role – there was not one weak link in these players. There were those whose good fortune was to be cast in particularly noteworthy roles, that deserve a particular mention. As mentioned earlier – Sara Tetley as Letitia Blacklock was made for the part of the matriarch. Slightly authoritative - thoughtful, but forthright. Mitzi Kowalsa - played by Marta Hawrylow - was a real hoot in the role of cook, cleaner, and ‘chief bottle washer’. Inspector Craddock – played by John Dennis – gave a super performance as the busy ‘ranking’ copper who couldn’t out-sleuth the sweet older lady, Jane Marple, assuredly played by Sarah Hinchcliffe. I must say that I was with him in that regard – I couldn’t fathom ‘who did it’ – but so enjoyed the journey that I went on attempting to find out. Director Anne Beer and her Creative team ensured that aspect of the production was in prime order. You all were so on point. Congratulations and thank you.
