New factsheet roundup
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve released two brand new factsheets, which are now available in for members to download from the factsheets area of our website.
GDPR
This year data protection rules are changing. GDPR stands for the General Data Protection Regulations and it demands more of organisations in terms of accountability for their use of personal data. Put simply, this means you may need to rethink the way your society processes and handles data, such as names, addresses and telephone numbers.
We’ve created a factsheet which explains some of the myths surrounding GDPR and helps you to understand how the new rules may affect your society.
To access the factsheet, login, then click My Account, and then My Societies, then click the login link next to your society name. Now you’re logged in as your society, you can download the factsheet.
**NEW**
In the factsheets section of the website you will also now find four privacy policy templates which you can download.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding relates to the action taken to promote the welfare of children and/or vulnerable adults and protect them from harm. Even if you don’t currently have children and/or vulnerable adults as members in your society, you should have a safeguarding policy in place. The policy should set out your group’s general approach towards safeguarding and the practical measures that you have in place to ensure children and vulnerable people are protected.
Our newest factsheet helps you to understand what you need to do to put a safeguarding policy in place, and gives you top tips on how to achieve it.
To access the factsheet, login, then click My Account, and then My Societies, then click the login link next to your society name. Now you’re logged in as your society, you can download the factsheet.
If you need any assistance accessing any of our factsheets, please send us an email on info@noda.org.uk or call the office on 01733 374790.
