Rosemary is a Masters trained Voice, Accent and Dialect Coach with over ten years’ experience working in the professional theatre industry. She trained as a Voice Coach at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and as an Actor at ALRA. As a Coach, Rosemary works with actors to unlock the possibilities of their voices, facilitating a change in accent as well as building strength and confidence in all forms of communication. Some of her coaching credits include; performers from West End casts Harry Potter and The Cursed Child and Matilda, TEDx speaker preparation, the Festivalul Internațional de Teatru de la Sibiu in Romania, The Young Company at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester and rising star screen actors winning at the ‘Young Artist Academy Awards’. 

As a teacher Rosemary has undertaken training at The Centre Artistique International Roy Hart in Malerargues, France. She holds a fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and a PGCERT in Teaching and Learning in the Performing Arts. She has been presented with awards for excellence both as an actor and a teacher and shares her research on teaching the ‘Standard Accents’ exploring accessible ways of teaching R.P and General American with The Voice and Speech Trainers Association. 

As an Actor she is passionate about new writing and has originated work at HOME Theatre, The Leeds Playhouse, Theatre 503, The North Wall Arts Centre, Theatre N16 and The Hen and Chickens. She has toured nationally to the country's outdoor theatre's, national trust venues, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Bristol Shakespeare Festival and The Vaults Festival. She has worked to create theatre that emphasises community engagement with companies Odd Arts, Papatango, Quantum Theatre and Byteback Theatre.

She draws from her extensive experience as a performer and teacher, to share her love for the craft of acting and is passionate about harnessing voice skills and performance to bring people closer to their authenticity.

Session: Voice and Text

Often overlooked, but definitely a core skill of an actor, this course will dive deep into vocal technique and how to apply it in rehearsals and performance. Suitable for actors of all experience who are happy to go back to fundamentals in order to discover or rediscover the way to find a fully supported voice.

This course is for actors who want to improve their understanding and use of their voice on the stage and beyond using inspiration from classical and contemporary texts.  It will also look at application of good vocal technique to radio plays, voice overs and accents.

It will be a creative and practical course exploring the actors voice, building strength, vocal health and versatility.
