Paul Herrington
Paul Herrington has been in the Beauty industry for over 30 years and has worked for some of the top beauty brands during this time.
He started his career in the West Midlands where he trained as a Hairdresser before moving to London to embark on his dream of becoming a Makeup artist and skincare expert.
During this time Paul has worked for Estee Lauder as national makeup artist, Makeup trainer for Space NK and ran a Personal beauty studio in London's West end recommending multiple Brands to high end consumers during a one to one service. During this time Paul also worked in Theatre and TV creating wigs and Makeup.
Paul is constantly called upon to conduct workshops and masterclasses for beauty brands.
Paul was headhunted in 2004 by Bobbi Brown to be their Head of Education for the UK and Ireland. During this time he travelled extensively throughout the UK and USA working closely with Bobbi herself, including instore events and both London and New York fashion Weeks. During this time Paul appeared on QVC UK for Bobbi Brown and led sell out shows every month.
Paul was promoted to director of Artistry in 2008 and held this role until 2012 when he decided to spread his wings and become a Freelance Beauty expert.
Since starting out on his own he has been in demand with both the beauty and media industries.
Paul appears as a Beauty expert on TV and Radio and has worked with a host of celebrities from TV, Movies and even Royalty during his career.
Paul has appeared on QVC UK for over 20 years as Brand Ambassador for Bobbi Brown ,Magnitone and other beauty brands. He also guests on QVC Germany and Italy.
He specializes in Bridal, Red carpet, editorial, Media and is called upon by many top brands as a consultant for events and Makeup and hair styling advice.
Paul also works extensively in the theatre designing Makeup and Hair/ wig looks for theatrical shows all over the country.
Session: Make Up for the Theatre
Short Course (Tuesday - Friday)
When performing, as a principal position or part of an ensemble, makeup and hair bring the characters to life and are an integral part of telling the story. Building on the success of last year’s workshop, and by popular request, this short course will introduce students to the basics of make up for theatre and begin to explore some specific techniques to enhance the aesthetic of the production.
During the course students will:
- be introduced to the basics of stage makeup.
- gain knowledge of and practice application tips and techniques.
- establish the essentials you need for your stage makeup kits.
- explore special effects and techniques to demonstrate characteristics of a particular role to and create specific looks and illusions.
- discover how make up can give confidence to your performance.
- learn how the history of makeup helps you understand eras in makeup to ensure the overall look of your shows are honest and believable.
Students will arrive Tuesday the 29th in the afternoon (after lunch) and depart after breakfast on Saturday the 2nd of August. Course includes teaching sessions Tuesday evening, all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This course can be combined with Costume: Aesthetics and Accessories to form a full week course (course fee £750), or booked as an individual course (course fee £450).
