Lu Herbert is a Set and Costume designer based in Yorkshire, working across the UK. They have a BA in Production Arts and Design from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and an MA in Collaborative Theatre from Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Lu was a JMK Finalist 2024 with director Zoe Murtagh. They have worked as the Designer for the sell out musical Cable Street at Southwark Playhouse Elephant and Borough, and is the Assistant Set Designer of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 at the Donmar Warehouse

Short Course (Saturday - Tuesday)

A course for students who want to gain practical insight into how to enhance shop bought costume to look old or different and how to accessorise them to fit the need of the production.

This course is an opportunity to learn useful skills in distressing, enhancing and transforming store bought clothing and costume to suit the needs of a production.

This short course aims to get you thinking outside of the box and is great for people who want to try a new skill without the pressure of advanced sewing skills.

Students will arrive Saturday afternoon 26th and depart after breakfast on Wednesday the 30th. Course includes teaching sessions Saturday evening, all day Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. This course can be combined with Make-up for the Theatre to form a full week course (course fee £750), or booked as an individual course (course fee £450). To book both courses, from the booking form click the Fees drop down and select Week Long Residential. From there, you will need to select both of the short courses before you can proceed with the booking.
