Grace Goulding
Grace is an award winning Welsh Movement Director and Choreographer based in Liverpool creating high quality and ambitious work across dance, theatre, education and outreach since 2010.
She is a multirolling and devising specialist working nationally and internationally creating and touring work across the UK and South East Asia. Last summer saw her directing debut in Zambia with Barefeet Theatre creating the bilingual, autobiographical and physical theatre spectacle HOME. She was also creative lead for the Barefeet Youth Arts Festival 2023, seeing over 1000 young people engage in community arts across Lusaka. She also debuted with SHOWStudio for the Met Museum and Met Gala 2024 choreographing work for the Beasts and Beauties. Reawakening Fashion. exhibition. Back in the UK she is an associate artist for TurnTable, a Liverpool- based site responsive and immersive theatre company. She was the movement specialist for YEP (Young Everyman and Playhouse) for 10 years and now provides regular creative projects with inpatients at the Sunflower Unit at Alder Hey. She is passionate about creating big-hearted and bold work that is rooted in the individual, equipping the actor with confidence in physical storytelling. She is all about creating safe and playful spaces to explore in an empowering and joyously inclusive environment.

Session: Ensemble: Ease and Excellence
This course for both performers and directors will focus on an essential element of theatre which, if done well, can transform productions. Working with fellow students you will explore the possibilities and opportunities within ensemble work.
During the week students will:
- practically play with a host of staging techniques and performance skills to learn how to get the most out of ensembles in wide range of genres
- discover creative ways to bring a company together and create ensemble theatre and choreography in performance.
- explore a physical approach to text, storytelling, characterisation, text and ensemble.
This will be a practical course and students should be prepared to get involved with physical exploration throughout the week.
