LITTLE VOICE is really a play with some music which calls for three good or very good main leads one with an outstanding voice. Acorn were fortunate to be well served in this direction. Louise Maude (Mari Hoff) gave a very convincing portrayal as the downtrodden somewhat inebriated domineering mother who was more interested in finding a man than the needs of her daughter. Cev Barker (Ray Say) played to perfection as a small time rather seedy clubland impresario desperate to find a big talent to guide to stardom and make him famous as well. Natasha Harper (Little Voice) played this role with great understanding and gave a great performance displaying a most wonderful vocal talent. All the other small roles were well cast and performed. The stage set gave a most suitable dowdy appearance just right for this production.
