A very impressive production of this way out, somewhat crazy musical by a very talented cast, that held the audiences attention throughout. It was hard at times to realise that this was a youth presentation, so well rehearsed and disciplined, and great praise must go to the production team.

Excellent portrayals by Lauren Holberry-Quinn, as The Cat in the Hat, Ben Rose, a superb Horton the Elephant and Sophie Allen as a memorable Gertrude McFuzz. Isabelle Hastings as Jojo showed a maturity way beyond her years and I particularly liked Katie Wade as Sour Kangaroo and Emma Robinson as Mayzie La Bird. Numerous songs all delivered competently by a very enthusiastic company.

Further excellent performances by Freddie Burton as Mr Mayor and Heather Burke as Mrs Mayor, surely two to watch out for, completed the talented array on display. A practical set, a very good band, made for a very happy fun musical.

Finally the synopsis in the programme was so well assembled to make the interpretation of this nutty musical easy to follow. Well done to all and I wish you all the best for your future productions.
