Having just left hospital I must say that this production was just the tonic I needed. All the principals were well rehearsed in singing and acting with amazing maturity. James Preston (Jean Valjean), Jordan Barker ( Javert) and Lewis Lockwood (Marius) all gave outstanding performances as did Nicola Watson (Fantine), Lois Horsfall (Eponine) and Sophie Hardill (Cosette) all giving fine vocal performances that were much to be admired. The stage set was brilliant, making fine use of a revolving platform in many scenes. The production was much enhanced by a fine orchestra with excellent lighting and sound and also well costumed. This was a production of great promise for the future and received the standing ovation it so richly deserved.
