Paul Holman wrote the script for this panto. It was a rattling good one with loads of new jokes and gags while telling the story extremely well. All the main characters, with Adrian Pick in the title role and his wife, Janet, as Alice Fitzwarren, suited their parts admirably. The chorus members who were all very youthful sang and moved well. I liked the choice of musical items. They were performed to backing tracks. The frenetic singing of 'If I Were Not Upon The Stage', the Sand Dance and the under-water [with u/v lighting routine] were especially notable. The sound , lighting and other effects were excellent. Congratulations to those responsible for the construction and decoration of the excellent set. The costumes were colourful and most attractive. The make-up throughout, particularly that of Tommy the Cat [Pauline Rowett], Queen Rat [Christine Siddall] and the little ratlings, was extremely good. From start to finish the audience was encouraged to participate in the fun. A very good time was had by all.
