The Christmas season officially started with the annual ‘Deck the Hall’s’ concert performed by members of HMTC. Once again the varied programme included some lovely and little known Christmas songs. Ted Mitson sang ‘The Carol Singers’ a comedy number which was very funny and well-remembered. Tina, Trudy and Liz performed a beautiful arrangement of ‘Oh Holy Night/Silent night; their harmonies were lovely as were Hilary, Sarah and Clare’s when they sang ‘The Birds’. The traditional carols were interspersed with some modern ones including one of my favourites ‘The Zither Carol’ and ‘A Starry Night’ was just lovely. There was more comedy from Heather and Jude and a touching song ‘Christmas without you’ from Jo-Anna which was very nicely sung. Megan’s version of ‘I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus’ was perfect and brought a smile to everyone’s faces. Now I feel like Christmas, thank you HMTC.
