On entering the Foyer / Airport we were welcomed by an air hostess, who showed us to our seats, then she and other flight crew went through the safety drill ready for take off for our journey around the world in 20 shows. What an innovative idea this was.

Our first flight took us across the pond to Lower East Side New York, where we were taken to see ‘Rent’. Staying in New York, we crossed the city to see ‘Avenue Q’, followed over to the west side of the city to ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Somewhere’.

We went over the river to the Bronx and saw ‘The Jersey Boys – Oh! What a night’. The first leg of our journey was excellent with fine singing from the chorus, Marion Gaughan and Louise Coupe. Back to the airport for a flight to London and onto Old Threadneedle Street to ‘Feed the Birds’ from ‘Mary Poppins’, sung by Lucy Burdett. We stayed in and around Regents Park and heard about the strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde ‘In his Eyes’, beautifully sung by Marion Gaughan and Louise Coupe. Then we visited a workhouse and met Oliver (Medley – full chorus). Our tour manager suggested we visit Fleet Street, but not to linger, as we may bump into a certain barber called ‘Sweeney Todd’, ‘My Friends’ sung by Paul Jones and Lucy Burdett.

Our next flight took us to Austria to listen to ‘The Sound of Music’, good singing here ladies. Another flight to Sweden for ‘A Little Night Music’, ‘Send in the Clowns’ sung by Viv Jones.

Yes I do feel a little jet lagged, but after a delayed flight we finally arrive in France. I really fancied a night at the Moulin Rouge, and I was not disappointed, What a Cabaret ‘El Tango de Roxanne’, excellent! In Paris we visited Gigi’s grandmother Madame Alvarex and her friend Honore Lachaille ‘I Remember it Well’, beautifully sung. On our final evening in Paris we were transported back to the French Revolution ‘Les Miserables’ this was superbly sung, so we decided to stay ‘One Day More’.

We returned to the U.S.A and ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ with Paul Jones and Hannah Keorney, we went on to California and ‘Smile’ then to L.A where we travelled down ‘Sunset Boulevard’. Onto to Chicago to ‘Cell Block Tango’ where there was some great singing and choreography in these numbers. Over to Philadelphia where we were invited to a ‘Sister Act’ medley. Our final stop was in Baltimore, where I had to buy some ‘Hairspray’.

What a brilliant tour this concert was, my favourite stop over was in Philadelphia and listening to the exquisite unaccompanied singing from ‘Sister Act’.

Thank you for a super evening’s entertainment, well done.
