A well constructed packed programme collated by members, with in-house co-ordinators, musical direction and choreography, linked by MC Richard Bruce in American accent, which was both amusing and informative. Tables were laid up in 8’s, cabaret style themed in red, white and blue with a delicious all American supper being served from Helen’s diner. Good colourful scenery was built by Colin and Nance Head and included an excellent huge coke bottle. Six skilful musicians accompanied some impressive solos, duets and company pieces. A lively opening rendition of America from West Side Story with the WYTkidz (junior section) great contribution excerpts from Bugsy Malone and Grease. Some good harmony and movement was achieved. Costumes were carefully thought out by Jill Haskell particularly with the large number of scenes included. Comic sketches went down well with a special mention to the Synchronised Swimmers Penny Bones, Angela Bailey, Glynnis Tucker and Ann Cross – a very funny routine. This was a real combined team effort, an enjoyable evening’s entertainment.
