KAOS searches for new Musical Director

21st October 2017

KAOS is an active society with approximately 100 members and has been performing for 40 years for the local community. The Society maintains high standards in musical entertainment. We have an excellent opportunity for a new Director who will continue to maintain high standards and enable the Society to continue to thrive.

The hallmark of KAOS remains it warmth and friendliness; the Committee is strong, active and involved. Further details can be found on our website

KAOS’ current Musical Director, Paul Ingram, is due to retire at the end of 2018. The Society is therefore seeking to appoint a new Musical Director with effect from 1st January 2019.

KAOS at present performs one stage production in October in the form of an opera or musical and in addition performs 2 concerts, one in the Spring and one at Christmas. This format is not set in stone and is negotiable. The Society has undertaken a variety of opera and musical stage work and in addition has performed major classical choral works. We will be open to new ideas both in terms of format and repertoire. The person appointed will have high standards and a commitment to motivate the choir to achieve its full potential.

An honorarium will be paid and will be subject to negotiation.

The Society would like to involve the new Musical Director in the choice of works for 2019 and we are therefore keen to appoint in early 2018

The Society anticipates interviewing a shortlist of applicants and then selecting applicants who will be required to take the role of the Musical Director for part of a rehearsal as part of the final selection process. This process is likely to take place in January 2018

If you would like a chat about the role and to ask any questions, please contact David Betts on 01865 375613 or Simon Street on 01865 371748

We would welcome applications in writing together with a curriculum vitae and the names of two referees by the 31st December 2017 to the Chairman, David Betts, 62 The Moors, Kidlington, Oxon OX5 2AJ or by email to
