Sarah de Tute
Sarah is a musical directing graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where she gained a master's degree with distinction. She has recently returned from her work as musical director for Ultimate Broadway in Shanghai, China, and for CATS the musical for the Really Useful Asia Pacific tour. Other credits include BBC Children in Need, Night of a Thousand Voices (The Royal Albert Hall London), Sunday Night at the Theatre Royal (Drury Lane London), Evita (Leeds Grand Theatre), Hello Dolly (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), Sunday in the Park with George, Into The Woods, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Joseph (Bill Kenwright Ltd).
She has also musically directed a number of new works, including Freak Show (Covent Garden and Camden Theatres, London), Watertight (Richard Taylor) and The Riot (Richard Lewis). Sarah has recorded for BBC radio with the Orchestra of Opera North, Inspiration Choir and Singlive UK and for Australian and Asian Television.
She has arranged and composed a number of theatre scores during her many American summer residencies for the Brownledge Theatre, in Vermont, USA and for the New York and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. She has collaborated with a number of creatives and artists for cabarets and musical nights including An Evening of Song for the First Minister at Edinburgh Castle, In concert at the Scottish Parliament, Brussels and Candid Cabaret at Oran Mor and Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Sarah has also worked as a visiting lecturer and musical director at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Arts Ed London and Leeds College of Music.

Then this course is absolutely for you…
Using music and inspiration from productions including Barnum, The Greatest Show and Moulin Rouge you will spend the week with an exceptional choreographer and musical director creating song and dance numbers that explore how to create narrative and character.
This course also includes a fantastic opportunity to delve into the world of circus with a full day circus skills workshop by Circus Allstars!
During the week you will:
- work as ensemble and soloist to explore and perform the stunning music in these shows.
- look at how companies prepare for performance and understand the challenging requirements of both rehearsal room and stage including character research, fitness, focus, teamwork and discipline.
- challenge your skills in dance and acting through movement.
- explore dynamics, harmony and vocal technique working with an expert MD.
- work on acting through song, interpretation of lyric, and character.
- have an opportunity to try to gain specific circus skills.
This course is aimed at more experienced dancers and singers with a good level of general fitness.
