Richard Stacey

Richard Stacey is a teacher, director and actor with a huge wealth of experience working with Alan Ayckbourn at the Stephen Joseph Theatre Scarborough. His theatre credits include Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Surprises’, 'Hero's Welcome', 'Confusions', 'Absurd Person Singular’, ‘Life and Beth’ ,’If I were you’ and ‘Time of My Life’, as well as appearing in pantomimes, Shakespeare and many film and television appearances including Atonement, King of the Castle and Evil Elvis. He has run workshops for NSDF and SJT as well as co-directing Hamlet and 12th Night for AFTLS. Richard has worked with Alan Ayckbourn and shared a rehearsal room on many occasions and so is ideally placed to introduce students to both Ayckbourn’s directing style and the peculiar challenges his work presents to directors.
