Lynsey Brown
Trained at Knightswood Musical Theatre Course before travelling to London to finish her training at Laine Theatre Arts. Lynsey had her first professional contract at 16 with Trends of London choreographed by Lynne Bustard and didn’t stop dancing her way round the world for various companies and artists until she was 30 when she finished her professional dancing career in Macau China.
On Lynsey’s return she began teaching at various colleges around Glasgow and Edinburgh and choreographing shows at home in England and out in Europe. (Glasgow Pavilion Panto, Jukebox Memories, Paradise Stageworks Worldwide Productions, Hot Ice Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Europa Park Germany Christmas Show, Cirque Imagine Lyon and Cirque the Greatest Show Uk Tour)
Lynsey was asked at the age of 34 to become the Entertainment Director for Blackpool Pleasure Beach where she relocated for almost 5 years.
Lynsey is very excited to be part of this year’s NODA Theatre Summer School.
Session: First Steps: Dance from the Start
If dance is always something you have wanted to try but not felt brave enough to have a go, this empowering course to build confidence and free the dancer within, is for you this year.
During the week you will:
- consider how posture and placement can help and enhance movement
- develop your knowledge and understanding of creating lines and shapes in dance
- improve your co-ordination and spatial awareness
- build confidence and expression in movement
- unlock your musicality in the way you move
- learn simple musical theatre routines that showcase your growing understanding and technique
This course is for students who have no experience of performing as a dancer but who are ready to have a go at this aspect of musical theatre.
Students may need to buy dance shoes to wear for the course, but we will endeavour to keep costs to a minimum.
