Session: First Notes: Singing from the Beginning
For students who are looking to grow and develop their experience as a singer this is an empowering course to build confidence and unlock the singer within. Focusing on fundamental vocal technique, this course will help you build a singing toolbox which will allow you to explore songs with musicality and expression.
During the week you will:
- learn and take part in a daily technical vocal warm-up
- be introduced to vocal techniques and voice qualities and have the opportunity to learn and try them for yourself. You will also learn terminology and vocabulary that goes with the vocal techniques
- build upon what you have already learned, deepen your understanding of your own vocal technique and learn how to integrate the work in class into your own performance
- work individually in front of the class on a musical theatre song of your choice receiving feedback and guidance from your tutor
- share a song you have worked on throughout the week to your fellow students at the end of the course
- reflect and set goals for yourself moving forward
This is a practical course for students who regardless of their experience with singing, want to explore their voice with others who are keen to learn.
