During the week you will:
- explore a wide range of choreographic styles and genres from traditional to contemporary.
- develop your understanding of how the use of music, different time signatures and dynamics of orchestration affect mood and storytelling in choreography.
- look at the importance of dance technique, energy levels and movement qualities.
- experiment with story-telling through movement.
- develop a practical understanding of how using pattern and formation adds dynamics to choreography.
- understand how to work with a cast and a production team.
- learn how to adapt choreography for various abilities.
This is a practical course. Please be aware that there will be a great deal of physical movement involved in this course, so a high degree of fitness is required.

Sarah’s professional credits started at a young age with the UK tour of Barnum, as ensemble and circus performer; next came an international skate show, followed by a season as principal singer in Scotland. Sarah created the female lead role of Cathy in the world premiere of Casper - the Musical, which ended its tour at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London, marking her West End debut. She then played Chava and was resident child director in the UK tour of Fiddler on the Roof alongside Paul Nicholas.
She performed as a soloist in a musical reading of Theatre of Dreams at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, and has toured the UK and Europe in Forever in Blue Jeans and Voice of the Heart as lead singer/dancer and remains both productions’ choreographer.
Sarah was dance captain and swing for the UK and International tour of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast for four years, a show that took her to places such as Athens, Malta and Kuala Lumpur, and she finished the tour as Mrs Potts, a role she adored, Following this, she worked as assistant choreographer for P & O Cruises on their flagship liners Azura and Ventura.
Sarah has choreographed and appeared in many pantomimes as female lead across the country including: Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington, Babes in the Wood, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty
Sarah was assistant director and choreographer on WAG! -the Musical in the West End , choreographed Funk and soul, a 70’s song and dance show for Thompson Holidays and has directed and choreographed Oliver, choreographed Sweet Charity, Full Monty, Pricilla Queen of the Desert and Sister Act for Portsmouth Players and nominated for best choreography many times.
Sarah is an established dance teacher and choreographer and has been doing so for over 15 years, Teaching at various theatre school across the south both independently run and professional theatre schools, Including PPA and Associated Studios and created choreography for many showcases, shows and filming projects, including P&O, Ted Group, Independent summer seasons productions and music videos.
