Do you dream of pulling off a tyrannical pirate performance?

Yes? Well this is the course for you…

Join us as we explore fights from the fanciful to the fantastical. Looking at a variety of combat styles and techniques drawing on inspiration from both stage and screen. As the name suggests, expect swashbuckling, wand waving, Wild West punch-ups and the mysteries of the Force...

During the week you will:

The week is aimed at both beginners and the more experienced. Please be aware that this will be a challenging, physical course and the focus will be on learning to perform fights, not choreograph them!

Tutor: Tom Jordan

Tom Jordan is a professional Fight Choreographer and Stage Combat Instructor. He has choreographed fights for a plethora of productions across the UK for companies such as Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, The Egg (Theatre Royal Bath) and The Handlebards. He has taught for several prestigious institutions including The Royal Shakespeare Company, Guildford School of Acting, and University of Northampton. He is an Associate Practitioner for the RSC and is Lecturer in Stage Combat for University of Gloucestershire. As a fight performer he’s been a pirate, a cowboy, a troll, a goblin, an elf, a fight-show Jedi and many more terrifying and exciting things. Once upon a time he even fought at a bar mitzvah….

Tutor: Sam Behan

Sam Behan is a professional stage fighting practitioner. Having gained his advanced qualifications in Stage Combat with the Academy of Performance Combat I moved onto performing professionally within the industry. He has a plethora of experience fight performing across both stage and screen; credits include being Fight Captain at multiple fight demonstration and corporate events held by the Royal Shakespeare Company, a Special Ops Agent in feature Kenya, Fight Captain across multiple music videos – namely ‘Shut Up and Let Me Walk’ by Off Bloom, and ‘Travel Deep’ by Se7en – He also features heavily as an opponent in many fight reels and projects for fellow actors.
