Fees

Fees per person:

£575 – Residential

£299 – Short Course Residential

For two consecutive short courses the fee would be £575 residential and £475 non residential.

Stay over Tuesday or Friday night (following on from short course only) £35.

i) A non-refundable deposit of £100 per student (£50 per course for Short Courses) is required to confirm the application, the balance being due by 1 July 2012. Students applying after 1 July 2012 will be required to pay the full fee on application.

IMPORTANT – If the full course fee has not been paid by 1 July 2012, the booking will be cancelled.

ii) An extra registration fee of £27 is payable on application by any student who is not an Individual Member of NODA or a bona fide member of a NODA or AIMS affiliated Society. This will be processed as an application for individual membership of NODA, for the year ending 31 December 2012.

iii) Students applying by 29 February 2012 may pay the balance of the fee in instalments by Banker’s Standing Order. A form, if requested, will be enclosed with acknowledgement of enrolment. Instalment payments should be completed by 1 July 2012.

IMPORTANT - Pay the balance by instalments to spread the cost of Summer School throughout the year. There is an option to pay in 4 or 5 instalments. Please contact NODA HQ on 01733 374 790 for further information.

iv) All fees must be paid in sterling. Cheques should be made payable to ‘National Operatic and Dramatic Association’. Post-dated cheques cannot be accepted.

v) Students may pay the deposit and/or the full fee by credit card (5% charge) or debit card.

vi) Overseas students may pay by direct bank transfer. Euro cheques will not be accepted. Payment by bank transfer may incur an additional charge.

What’s Included

The Fee includes:

  • Accommodation in en-suite rooms for one person.
  • Meals (breakfast, morning coffee, light lunch, afternoon tea and dinner) from dinner on the Saturday of arrival to breakfast on the Saturday of departure. Non-residential fee includes coffee, light lunch, tea and dinner each day from dinner on the first Saturday to dinner on the Friday.
  • All tuition, including attendance at all classes and workshops during the week. Students are encouraged to join in all activities during the week; both course work and optional extras. Individual tuition is not possible within the School except where stated in the course specification.

Application Process

Complete the online application form.

On receipt of your completed application form you will be sent a letter confirming your place and an invoice for the remainder of your course fees.

Payment Policy

All fees must be paid by Friday 8 June 2012 (unless paying by instalments). Failure to do so will result in NODA cancelling your place at Summer School 2012. You will then become liable for a cancellation charge as per the cancellation policy below.

NODA does not include cancellation or personal accident insurance within the course fee. Students are strongly advised to make their own insurance arrangements especially against cancellation.

The following percentage charges of the course fee will be levied in the event of cancellation:

More than 90 days’ notice - deposit only

61 – 90 days notice - 25%

31 – 60 days notice - 50%

16 – 30 days notice - 75%

8 – 15 days notice - 90%

7 days or less - 100%

Notice of cancellation must be received in writing and is effective from the day is it received by NODA.

Bursary Information

NODA is delighted to be able to offer UK based students the opportunity to apply for a National Bursary to support their attendance at Summer School. For 2012 we are offering 38 national bursaries of £250 each, in addition, each of the eleven NODA regions has the opportunity to award various regional bursaries. To apply for a National Bursary, please complete the online application form and submit it with your Summer School application form before Friday 27th January 2012. For overseas students, if any of the NODA National Bursaries have not been awarded by the end of February 2012 one Bursary may be allocated to an overseas student. Overseas students should return the bursary application form with their application form for Summer School. It is a condition of the bursary that the application is supported by the student’s society, unless you are an Individual/Joint Member in which case please quote your membership number. No more than 2 Bursaries can be awarded to a student during their time as a member of NODA

Additional Information

  • Facilities for students with disabilities are available. Please ensure that your requirements are mentioned on the application form and we will do our best to meet them.
  • There are only a limited number of places on each course; therefore students are advised to enrol as early as possible to ensure a place on their chosen course.
  • The School cannot accept students who are under 18 or over 80 on the first day of the course under any circumstances.
  • In all matters the School Director’s decision shall be final.
